Are you a natural ‘night owl’ or Insomnia natural?

Is it that you have insomnia or is it that you are having trouble conforming to an early bird society?
I found this amazing article in the Science News, it fully opened up the possibilities that some of us have internal clocks that work best at night and some of us that don’t have the internal night clock, but actually have the early bird within. This is the kind of sleep learning that our bosses need to understand, when we are not talkative first thing in the morning.
The studies look into the sleep and waking systems determining how the body syncs up with light and dark cycles.
These days they can monitor everything from how much sleep you have to if you are sleeping too much, we all know that is not an insomnia’s problem. There is a lot of information that is provided to them about sleep that helps with the learning process for us all.
The overview of the study is this, two groups “lark” (morning people) and Night owls (Evening people) this is where it became obvious there was a difference. The larks in the study typically woke up between 4 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. and went to bed by 9 p.m. The night owls, or evening chronotypes, left to their own devices would go to bed at 3 a.m. or 4 a.m. and rise at noon.
As this article spelled out so well for the night owls out there. “Their problem is that they are at complete contradiction to the work schedule of society,” he says.
The results of the study were very interesting, discover a possible reason why insomnia might be plaguing you. Is your inner night owl calling? Click here and find out. Learn more about sleeping by following the link below.

Trying to stay asleep, but you seem to wake up every night around the same time. Guess what I have a simple solution for you that is also very tasty…Protein!
Its all about having a small snack of protein before you head off to sleep at night. I recommend having some string cheese about 20 mins before bed.
Why Does Protein work?
Its simple your blood sugar has dropped. This drop causes your body to wake up. Most of us have a routine where we have a meal at the end of the night and then you go to bed a few hours later. Approximately 3 hours into our sleep we have digested our dinner and there is a spike in our blood levels.
If your mind persists and you still are not able to sleep at night, I recommend ‘Releif From Insomnia‘ This is a great way to stop the inner chatter of your mind that keeps you tossing and turning through out the night.
In the mean time use this technique, discover how much protein you need to keep your blood sugar levels even through out the night.
Be cautious, sometimes a large snake will have the opposite affect and will cause nightmares, so please experiment and learn what works best for you and your sleep.
I bid you all goodnight.

Are we Allergic to sleeping???

I came across the Interesting article in the The Grand Rapids Press
about a group of men that were laid off and developed insomnia, Jim VanderMay coined the phrase the “3 am club”.
I think we can all relate to that name.
I was surprised to learn that prescription sleep aids eventually stop working according to a 2005 National Institute of Health revealed. Surprised might not be the exact word, but it sure did explain a bit.
It is not limited to prescription sleep aids, products such as Tylenol PM, Benadryl and NyQuil have the same essential product working for them: diphenhydramine. The antihistamine is intended to shut down production of histamines which cause allergic reactions.
Are we Allergic to sleeping???
I loved reading this article, because all in all it came to the conclusion we can all relate to,
“The 2005 study showed there was only one proven treatment for chronic insomnia — the hard, regimented work of behavioral therapy.”
Get inspired by Jim VanderMay and read his full story here and what he did to overcome his insomnia.

If you are looking to really learn about sleep this is the best book I have come across.
Thank you Gayle Green, this book Insomniac is phenominal. Finally a book about insomnia from someone who obviously has had it.
Author Green actually explored the world to find out more about insomnia and sleep. In her book she reveals alot about sleep patterns, tests, and does a multitude of interviews with insomniacs. Check it out, I have a link to Amazon, where I got my copy. If you have not already read this, it is a must read.
Also if you go to this link, you will be able to do a ‘Sneak Peak’ of the book before you purchase.

Discover the amazing insight to insomnia that Author Gayle Green gives us in details with numerous interviews and detailed information from the medical community. Unravel the the turmoil we call Insomnia by reading Insomniac.

I found this great article on http://www.dreamviews.com/sleepstages.php. It tells of the stages of sleep, did you know there are FIVE stages? So exploring insomnia in a natural way we should be aware of the stages of sleep. This could really help change our insomnia into a natural state.
Not only are there Five stages but you cycle through them over and over again during the night. One of the things I found so interesting in this article is this
After the completion of the 4th stage, the 5th stage does not immediately begin; instead, the first 4 stages quickly reverse and are then immediately followed by a REM period
The REM period expands during the night lasting upto a whole hour long creating more vivid dreams.
Check out this great site, they even have an easy detailed chart that really helps understand the stages of sleep right down to the movement of your eyes.
